Explosive Welding Bimetallic Transition Inserts Heat Resistant For Shipbuilding

In modern shipbuilding, especially high-speed ship construction, it’s normal to use aluminum structures with a lower density to reduce the weight and increase ship speed. Considering the strength, carrying capacity, cost and durability, the main hull structure is usually made of steel. Aluminum alloy only used in superstructure to reduce weight and to make lower a center of gravity. Therefore, the reliable bonding between aluminum alloy parts and steel parts is a very important matter.

The benefit of the last one combination is the ability for the interface to be heated up to 500 °C during fusion welding to ship structure. Meanwhile the first one combination interface can be heated only up to 300 °C
